The Project

As of spring 2019, 1871 had never updated its brand or website since its start seven years ago. They knew the overall design was in need of a refresh — and the team had consistently received feedback from the site’s visitors about difficulties navigating the platform. The Flowspoke team dove into the existing site’s analytics and conducted interviews with key stakeholders to build our redesign strategy. In winter 2020, the new site launched — one that’s not only beautiful, but also easy to navigate and effectively communicates 1871’s mission and offerings.

1871's website is the hub for all of its services – it's where potential members, event attendees, corporate partners, mentors and more can explore their offerings and get connected. We designed and built a custom Wordpress theme with the ability to grow as 1871 continues to expand its reach.
